Summer, to many children, means carefree days - summer camp, visits to the beach, ice-cream cones - all without the demands of school. To the more than 5,000 children served by WIN each year, summer means days of of uncertainty as their parents struggle to find a permanent home for their families before the new school year begins.
So many factors contribute to the struggle of fighting homelessness during the summer - stress from living in overcrowded conditions, escalating family tensions and violence, and a misperception that homelessness is less of a "hardship" during this time.
Please partner with Women In Need as we prepare to meet the critical and growing needs of the children who will enter our shelters this summer. Your support will help us to provide a secure environment for these children and their families as they begin to search for new homes and rebuild their lives.
