Champions for Children
Providing a place for WIN Children to Flourish and Grow
Safe, dependable, nurturing childcare is a luxury for many but for the families served by Women In Need, it is a necessity, central to their well-being and success. That’s why WIN’s comprehensive childcare program is dedicated to providing families with critical, yet basic support. WIN’s Out-of-School-Time program, Camp WIN and daily childcare services promote a stable environment for the children while teaching important skills and encouraging self-worth.
When children are placed in WIN’s care, it benefits the entire family by giving parents peace of mind about the health and safety of their children, consequently helping them to balance the responsibilities of finding work, housing and ultimately moving on to independence.
Why become a Champion?
Funding designated for our childcare programs, both government and private, has been cut, yet the number of children at WIN facilities is at an all-time high--6,000 children last year alone. In order to serve the growing number of children in our shelters, WIN has developed Champions for Children, a new fundraising program to ensure each child receives proper care. Donors will be asked to provide $300 per quarter, $1200 per year, which will guarantee placement for one child. Once a quarter the donor will receive a newsletter detailing activities and accomplishments in our childcare programs.
